We have installed new Anti-Spam tools to try to stop or slow down the flood of spammers we have had hitting our Wiki. We wish to keep this wiki as open as possible. Please let us know if you have any problems.

October 14, 2006

Wine-Wiki.org's database has broken the 100MB mark! That is great news, but remember that every dollar you give will help with making Wine-Wiki.org a better site.

Apparently Coverity have hired someone to work on the Scan project full time which means that we can look forward to reports on Wine again. Good news.

Today I added Google Ads to the Wiki to help support us. I've been paying for the wiki out of my own money, and now that we need new hosting I can't pay for the more costly plans. I'm hoping this will give us enought money to move to the next host package so out database does not timeout now.

You may notice some wiki errors referring to our exceeded the 'max_questions' resource. Because the traffic for the wiki has have grown so much, we are encroaching upon the limits of our current hosting plan. Previously we have managed to fund the wiki from our own pockets but with the continued growth we now are now looking for regular donations, sponsorship or hosting. If you can assist or have some suggestions to share please leave a message here User_talk:Josephblack

Quartz driver on Darwine CVS. While we usually don't cover Darwine because of they have a good wiki (and we regrettably don't have Mac's), they deserve all the recognition they get. Their wiki can be found at http://wiki.opendarwin.org/.

April 2006

Under a contract with the Department of Homeland Security, as reported in the mailing lists, Coverity have started to provide the Wine project with a free scan looking for 'critical' bugs. From an initial list of 830 potential bugs in Wine's 1.3 million lines of code (as reported by D. Kegel April 6 2006), developers have been quick to investigate and address this concern. You can check Wine's progress here http://scan.coverity.com/. (While this isn't strictly wine-wiki news, we thought you would like to know of this interesting development)

A user posted that Wine now has a RSS link for the winehq homepage. http://feed43.com/winehq.xml Thanks to D Schwarz for providing this well behaved service to wine ((it only hits the URL at most once every 6 hours and caches the result for subsequent queries)

I'm not dead, just been busy/keeping in the shadows. I like to keep a lazafair way of handling the wiki, but changes are coming down the pipe! The first is that I fixed that dumb max_questions error. I hope. If it comes back tell me please, I just love kicking the wiki over and over again. Oh, the wiki is now up to 65MBs for the database. We can't do this without you!

Dec 2005

The wiki software has been upgraded. Please watch for errors and if you find any, please report them.

June 25, 2005

April 07, 2005

March 15, 2005

My old host has been dropped, and we are now on a new host. I'm sorry about that, but they just dropped the ball totally. All the errors that we were having stopped with the new host.

March 09, 2005

I'm working with my new host to try to fix the problems.... If they are unable to fix them, I will be moving again.

February 23, 2005

The wiki just started working, and I have no clue what made it go down. I'm very sorry about the down time, I have no clue what was wrong.

February 20, 2005

I've placed Google Ads onto the wiki due to that fact that I'm paying this out of my own pocket. If you do not like them, please contact me, and we will work out a way to support Wine-Wiki.org without ads.

February 17, 2005

We have moved to a new host, and it was to easy. If anything goes wrong, please tell me. Also, I've disabled Image uploading due to copyright laws and so on. I will be removing images from HOWTOs and so on until I can work out all the copyright information. Sorry, but copyrights are very powerful.

February 9, 2005

I've started a new Template called "Infobox_Videogame" with links to Amazon to buy the item. Wine-Wiki.org need support, and this is the easiest way to do it, without driving people away.

February 4, 2005

Updated the Wiki to a new version so tell me if things act odd.

February 3, 2005

I destroyed my 64bit OS, and I am rebuilding an 32bit one. So, I will be making more HOWTOs soon.

January 30, 2005

I was hoping to have more HOWTOs done, but getting wine to run on a pure 64bit OS can be difficult. I'm tyring something now to see if it works 100% all the time.

January 12, 2005

I'm tyring to get more Gaming HOWTOs in here, but games are so difficult to get working.

January 10, 2005

I have made some changes on the Wiki because things were not work the way I wanted it to. Also it would of made trouble down the line.

January 7, 2005

Got the logo done, and it looks good to be done by a computer nerd. We now have two members posting HOWTOs, awesome!

January 4, 2005

My new AMD 64 computer just came in, so I will be doing a few 64-bit HOWTOs.

January 3, 2005

My host is a pain in the butt..... if it goes down again, I will need a new host. E-Mail me if you have a good cheap hosting company.

December 28, 2004

It turns out that my host turned off some parts of PHP because of the Santy.E Virus. If I have to, I will move to a new host.

December 27, 2004

Fixed the Website..... but I'm not sure what made it go down to begin with. It looks like my host updated MySQL and it back fired. Anyway, it's working again, so post away.
